“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Bob Novak.....RIP

I was saddened by this news today....

WASHINGTON - Political columnist Robert Novak, a diehard conservative, pugilistic debater and proud owner of the "Prince of Darkness" moniker, died Tuesday after a battle with brain cancer that was diagnosed in July 2008. He was 78.

The very first political show that grabbed my attention as a teen was CNN's Crossfire, with Bob Novak debating from the right and Michael Kinsley debating from the left. It was from watching Novak skewer Kinsley every night on issue after issue that I realized that I was a conservative and not a liberal. Even when that little drop of spittle formed on Bob's lip when he argued with guests, I admired his positions and dedication to them. He was a formidable conservative thinker and columnist and I credit him as much as anybody with introducing me to politics. I'll miss reading his columns and listening to him embarrass liberals as a frequent TV pundit.

RIP, dude!
