“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Already a joke, the Nobel committee descends into embarrassing self-parody

Everybody recognizes that the Nobel committee awards it's honors for little else than being pro-terrorist, politically correct, eco-friendly, and anti-American....or some combination of those. But at least they pretend that the person receiving the award has done something to deserve it.....well, not so much when it comes to heaping undeserved praise on The One.....

From Timesonline -- Rarely has an award had such an obvious political and partisan intent. It was clearly seen by the Norwegian Nobel committee as a way of expressing European gratitude for an end to the Bush Administration, approval for the election of America’s first black president and hope that Washington will honour its promise to re-engage with the world.

Instead, the prize risks looking preposterous in its claims, patronising in its intentions and demeaning in its attempt to build up a man who has barely begun his period in office, let alone achieved any tangible outcome for peace
.

Obama has not accomplished one thing except to dramatically expand the scope and reach of the federal nanny-State. On the international front, he's about to expand the war in Afghanistan and possibly start one with Iran. So where does peace fit into his agenda so far? This was nothing but a consolation prize from the Norwegians for Chicago not getting the Olympics and a further diminution of what used to be a respectable honor, and is now nothing but a hat-tip to international political correctness.

I'm sure Barack and Michelle think they richly deserve the peace prize but, the irony will be palpable when they go to Norway to receive it, right after Obama sends in more troops to Afghanistan and the prospect of war between Israel and Iran looms.
