“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

Sticks and stones and pissed off crossing guards can hurt you

Let this be a cautionary tale for you smart-assed kids out there....don't call people names......

An off-duty crossing guard for Drexel Middle School was arrested last Thursday for allegedly beating a 14-year-old boy who taunted him during the school year.

According to Chitwood, the Drexel Hill Middle School student had taunted the guard with names like “fatso” and “fat man” throughout the year.

I'm not saying a grown man should ever hit a minor, for any reason. That would be wrong, but in the real world, when you repeatedly taunt somebody with hurtful name-calling you have to expect an ass-whipping is coming your way at some point, right?

Obama dithers while the beaches are ruined

How has Obama's indecision, incompetence, and hyperpoliticization of the BP oil spill not only allowed, but caused the avoidable environmental devastation across the entire Gulf region? Let me count the ways:

1: On day 2 of the spill, 13 different countries with oil-spill equipment, know-how, and willingness to help, offered their expert assistance but were turned down because of the obscure Jones Act which prevents foreign-flagged vessels from operating in US waters without being union manned.

2: The federal government refused to allow Gov. Jindal to erect sand berms because he hadn't submitted proper environmental impact studies.

3: A fleet of oil skimmers were pulled into port for 24 hours so the bureaucrats could make sure they complied with federal life vests and fire extinguisher rules.

4: The largest oil skimmer in the whole world "A Whale", docked in Virginia, wasn't allowed to start skimming operations because it returned slightly more than 15ppm of oily water to the Gulf, exceeding onerous federal guidelines.

5: Finally, the Obama administration invited the vastly more experienced Dutch crews and skimmers to the Gulf to clean up the mess but, they will be delayed indefinitely because Obama will not allow Dutch crews to operate their own equipment. Inexperienced American union workers must be trained first before they are allowed to fumble around and figure out how to clean up the oil.

If on day 2, when help was offered, we had suspended the Jones Act, and invited everybody to help with the clean up when the oil slick was small and still far off shore, the skimmers and clean-up operators might have been able to prevent the oil from ever reaching land at all. Obama's gross incompetence allowed the oil ashore, causing directly the economic and environmental devastation from which we in the Gulf states will suffer for perhaps decades.

Every day that goes by, it gets more unbelievable that we allowed the Obama-lick spittle media to install in the presidency an inexperienced, do-nothing, community agitator.

The spy who loved me

So this is the face of modern espionage between the US and Russia. WOW!

I don't understand Russian but I swear I heard the names Rocky and Bullwinkle somewhere in here. I don't care if she is a bloody communist, you have to dig the accent, red hair, and dangerously unbuttoned blouse.....

For bonus points and a virtual cookie: without cheating, what is the name of the exotic but inept villainess in the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon?

Coming to America?

When you relegate generations of your citizens to a lifestyle of laziness and government dependence, they tend to get upset when you tell them the gravy train is over....

(Reuters) - A strike by Metro workers snarled traffic for the third day in Madrid on Wednesday and unions said the protest against austerity measures aimed at getting Spain's deficit under control could become indefinite.

Greece collapsed because of excessive government spending on entitlement programs that allowed most of it's citizens to be good-for-nothing sponges. France, Germany, England, Italy, Portugal, and Spain are all on the verge of the same thing because they've embraced the same absurd notion of the successful, socialist nanny state that doomed Greece. Disgruntled citizens in France rioted because the government threatened to raise the retirement age by 2 years.....2 LOUSY YEARS!!!

With our unprecedented spending on entitlements, our already generous welfare and unemployment benefits, and the determination by our current socialist overlords to continue to spend record amounts of money that do not exist in our economy, how can the US avoid the same rioting in the streets and rampant social unrest that hamstrings old Europe now? The simple answer is to get rid of Barack Obama and the democrats as fast as possible, then employ Reagan-like tax cuts and dramatically cut government spending. It's the only way to avoid collapse but then, I fear the collapse of the American economic system is exactly what Obama has in mind. Explain his actions any other way.

Global warming believers are idiots

Here's how stupid global-warming believers are: a friend of the masseuse that Al Gore tried to rape in a Portland hotel, tried to convince her not to go to the police after her ordeal. Here's the police account....

Finally she got away. Later, she talked to friends, liberals like herself, who advised against telling police. One asked her "to just suck it up; otherwise, the world's going to be destroyed from global warming."

To liberals, no sacrifice is too great in the name of protecting the environment or protecting those who claim to protect the environment. We saw the sacrifices women by the scores made after being molested by Bill Clinton. The leftist media attacked his accusers and defended Clinton rather than question the champion of their beloved liberal causes. Thankfully, the media isn't in love with Gore the way they were with Clinton so they may actually report the facts here, even if it means the Goreacle looks bad.

Time to grow up

How big of a loser do you have to be if you are a full-grown adult and you get busted video-taping one of those stupid teen vampire movies?

In a lawsuit filed today in Cook County Circuit Court, Samantha Tumpach alleges wrongdoing at that hands of the movie facility where she was arrested in November 2009 after employees caught her recording segments of the tween vampire hit with a personal video camera.

Tumpach, 22, is suing Rosemont's Muvico movie theater for more than $50,000, charging malicious prosecution, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence and defamation.
"She has suffered great public ridicule, embarrassment, humiliation, inconvenience, damages to her reputation and other damages," the lawsuit states.

The public ridicule and humiliation is from being exposed as a loser possessing the maturity of a 12 year old girl, and who pines for teenage boys....you did that to yourself.

The dumbing down of America

Want to know why our country is in rapid decline? This might be a good place to start.....

In top suburban schools across the country, the valedictorian, a beloved tradition, is rapidly losing its singular meaning as administrators dispense the title to every straight-A student rather than try to choose the best among them.

Principals say that recognizing multiple valedictorians reduces pressure and competition among students, and is a more equitable way to honor achievement, particularly when No. 1 and No. 5 may be separated by only the smallest fraction of a grade from sophomore science.

"...reduces pressure and competition among students".....to a liberal in academia, this is a bad thing.

The real world is rife with pressure and competition. Making everybody equal so the losers don't get their feelings hurt is absurd. It's as dumb as not keeping score in youth sports so the losers don't get their feeling hurt and cry because they're losers.

Liberalism insidiously dictates that anybody who stands out as superior in a crowd of mediocrity must be leveled and forced to be no better than everybody else. If everybody gets to be valedictorian, why try to make good grades at all? If no score is kept in the game, why try to score?

It's crap thinking like this that is making the U.S. a crap nation with lazy crap citizens for whom losing isn't motivation to do better next time but, cause to whine like babies and demand fairness of outcomes be guaranteed.

Obama empanels idiots to do mens' work

In the wake of the oil-spill disaster, Chairman Zero appointed a blue-ribbon panel to set future drilling policy for the US. He wisely staffed it with petroleum-industry scientists, top-notch engineers, and marine exploration experts.......just kidding. He staffed it with smelly hippy rejects from the radical environmental movement who hate off-shore drilling entirely. They are nothing but leftist progressive hacks who'll regurgitate Obama's disdain for the fossil fuel industry. They'll do everything they can to recommend moratoria on future drilling, further restrict current operations, and suggest much higher federal taxes on oil and gasoline....anything to advance Obama's demented obsession with idiotic green energy.

The feckless media will laud the panel as a brilliant collection of the best and brightest minds while ignoring the fact that none of them have spent a day in the petroleum industry. They're like everybody else Obama elevates to positions of power whether czars or cabinet members....they're academicians and theorists....just like himself. BHO doesn't respect real-world experience because he has none himself.

Obama wants to use this crisis to damage the domestic petroleum industry and this panel will help him do it.

Smelly hippies causing trouble

Why would any city want to host the G-8 or the G-20 summit, when you have to spend hundreds of millions on security because a gaggle of dope-smoking anti-globalization hippies always show up to cause trouble? Toronto spent almost a billion dollars on security for this weeks meeting of developed and developing countries' leaders. It's absurd that police don't just shoot the first couple of idiots who throw bottles at them and make an example to the others.

It must be nice to have rich parents who'll fund your Berkeley "education" and don't care if you waste their money being a full time protester.

Dumb democrat doesn't know basic geography

They just don't come much dumber than democrat legislators at the county level, who attended awful government schools. Here's retard Peggy West of Wisconsin arguing why her state should join a stupid boycott of Arizona over it's immigration law. The money quote is in blue, but the 1:30 vid clip is below for your viewing enjoyment.....

“If this was Texas, which is a state that is directly on the border with Mexico, and they were calling for a measure like this, saying that they have a major issue with, you know, undocumented people flooding their borders, I would say, I would have to look twice at this, but this is a state that’s a ways removed from the border…”

Arizona not a border state? I guess instead of geography classes in the sixth grade, Peggy was having her self esteem stroked by lazy, union teachers, learning to put condoms on bananas, or plotting how to land an equal-opportunity gig on the Milwaukee County Board.

Hat tip to Michelle Malkin.

With no sense of the irony, Frank and Dodd move to regulate the financial industries

Craven democrats, namely Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, in both houses have finished crafting a financial reform bill which should be ready for Obama's signature on July 4th. The sweeping overhaul of the financial industry creates huge new government oversight bureaucracies, gives government easy means of business takeovers, and limits dramatically the freedoms that promote wealth creation. All of this and the two biggest financial failures were left untouched by the regulations, Fannie and Freddie, both of which were bankrupted by the direct actions of Frank and Dodd and continue to need taxpayer underwriting today.

Blubbered a teary-eyed Chris Dodd, "No one will know until this is actually in place how it works. But we believe we've done something that has been needed for a long time. It took a crisis to bring us to the point where we could actually get this job done."

Reminds me of when Nancy Pelosi said of the health-care takeover, "We have to pass it to see what's in it." The unmitigated gall of democrats to seize power and money from the American people while pulling the wool over our eyes never ceases to shock me.

I'm scared to ask why Barney's pulling up his pants.

Glenn Beck abuses Al Qaeda spokesman, Adam Gadahn.....hilarious!

You know how Al Qaeda regularly puts out threatening "warning" messages to America, narrated by American traitor Adam Gadahn? Well a couple of them caught the attention of Glenn Beck and his pals. They mercilessly mock and ridicule this guy for like 8 minutes. It is hilarious. A must watch.....

If Bin Laden hears of this mockery, Adam Gadahn might find himself without a head for being made a laughing stock of the capitalist infidels.

Dr. Seuss goofs on Obama

I do not like this Uncle Sam,

I do not like his health care scam.

I do not like these dirty crooks,

or how they lie and cook the books.

I do not like when Congress steals,

I do not like their secret deals.

I do not like this speaker, Nan ,

I do not like this 'YES WE CAN.'

I do not like this spending spree,

I'm smart, I know that nothing's free.

I do not like your smug replies,

when I complain about your lies.

I do not like this kind of hope.

I do not like it, nope, nope, nope!

Obama poised to circumvent the American people again

There's a rumor circulating around the beltway that President Obama is contemplating conferring citizenship on all illegal aliens, by executive order. The progressive movement realizes that after the midterms, there will be no appetite for immigration reform without closing the borders so, to preserve the possibility of re-election in 2012, The One is considering the outrageous move of legitimizing all 12-20million aliens.

The assumption we have to make therefor, is that Emanual and Axelrod have calculated that the loss of millions of moderate American votes as a result, will be more than offset by the addition of 8-12million loyal Latino voters. In addition, this move will render void the Arizona law which has been a thorn in Obama's side since it was passed.

Personally, I doubt even Obama has the guts to try this. The outrage across the US would be too great and the rank and file democrats would see it as political suicide. On the other hand, why should Obama care what they think when he doesn't need their support to execute an executive order?

Hat tip to Yid with Lid.

Elena Kagan needs to be "Borked"

Think Obama's nomination of androgynous radical Elena Kagan for the Supreme Court was a good idea?

In case you missed it, Robert Bork was an eminently qualified, Constitutional originalist when he was nominated by Reagan for the Supreme Court. Within 45 minutes of his nomination the now mercifully deceased Ted Kennedy took to the Senate floor and lied repeatedly about Bork's positions. It is called the Bork's America Speech in the history books and is one of the most shameful episodes in American politics. Joe Biden was the Senate Judiciary Committee Chair at the time and he spear-headed the defeat of Bork as a justice and from the process a new verb was formed. "to Bork" which means to vilify unfairly a political appointee in order to sabotage their nomination to office.(as if you needed another reason to hate the retard Biden).

It would be fittingly ironic if Kagan were to be defeated for the S.C. since she thought the Bork hearing were a good thing. We'll see if the GOP has the guts to stand up against her brand of leftist radicalism. I'm betting they do not.

Eliot Spitzer redefines the yuck factor

In order to continue to rehabilitate the career of disgraced "john" Eliot Spitzer, CNN will be airing a Crossfire-like debate show featuring Kathleen Parker supposedly arguing from the right and Spitzer arguing from the left.

You may remember Eliot Spitzer. He was New York's governor when he got caught as Client #9, hiring super-high-priced call girls. Of all the lefties out there who can debate the liberal side, why him? And Kathleen Parker is the kind of tepid conservative liberals adore. It's more like a moderate debating a liberal. Still, how Kathleen Parker can sit at the same desk with him without retching defies all logic.

All I can say is YUCK!!!

USA soccer.....the cardiac kids

Landon Donovan scored the only goal in the go-on-or-go-home, World Cup match between the US and Algeria this morning, in minute 92 out of a 90 minute match. Or to put it in terms even mouth-breathing NFL fans can understand....overtime.

For you soccer haters out there like blowhards Glenn Beck and Jim Rome...get over yourselves! Nobody cares what you think. Soccer is not a threat to the NFL, NBA, NHL, or baseball, so shut your stupid pie-holes and let the rest of us enjoy the World Cup while it lasts.

Either the buck stops with Obama, or it doesn't

It is just now being revealed that the Obama administration knew far in advance that there were serious problems on the Deep Horizon oil rig. In fact, BP alerted the administration as early as Feb 13th of oil and natural gas being leaked onto the ocean floor, yet administration officials did nothing as Emanual, Axelrod, and Obama cravenly considered the political implications and calculated possible opportunities to implement agenda items like cap-and-trade. If it turns out that their reckless inaction directly cost 11 Americans their lives and countless families indirectly, their sources of income, shouldn't there be a price to pay? I mean if Obama is serious about the buck stopping with him?

Over at FoxNation there's an excellent article about just this by Kevin McCullough. Worth the read going forward as this disaster drags out into it's third month, with no end in sight.

Stay classy Log Cabin Republicans

This was chosen by the Log Cabin Republicans for their display at the Los Angeles Gay Pride Day or something.

Contrary to what the media will tell you, the conservative tent is far more broad than the liberal tent. While democrats demand strict adherence to liberal dogma, we on the right are happy to have conservatives join our side regardless of their personal lifestyles, as long as it doesn't impede someone else's pursuit of happiness. But the last thing we need is conservatives, especially gay conservatives, embracing the disgusting "teabag" joke with which mainstream, media liberals love to ridicule tea-party activists.

If you are gay and conservative and are disheartened and embarrassed by this crass display, head on over to GayPatriot or GOProud and check them out as alternative organizations to LCR.

Worst tattoo in the whole world

I've seen some awful tattoos, some worse than this actually but still, who would have a steaming pile of crap permanently inked on her body? Did she wake up one morning and just say, "I give up"?

Like father, like son......douches!

I'm still not sure who this Justin Beiber twerp is but, his dad seems like a tool and a complete douche...

....on a personal Web site he created seven years ago, Jeremy revealed he reads The Sword of Truth fantasy novels and loves to play the card game Spades. But that's not all: "I love the outdoors. I follow and play a variety of sports. I love camping and boating, but most of all, I love to travel."

The site is also loaded with shirtless photos of Jeremy showing off his tattooed chest – as well as photos of his son as a young boy. (Earlier this year, the teen got his first tattoo: a seagull to match one his father has.)

"My life is my son," Jeremy wrote on the site. "He is 9 years old and is the most talented person I know. He's a 'looker' too (just like his dad)!"

Matching seagull tatts? A tattooed chest that he displays on a web page? And calls himself a looker? Definitely a douche!

Obama's assault on the American worker

Here's the new ad for worker compensation featuring the Labor Secretary Hilda Solis....

"Documented or undocumented"! WOW! It's as if the Obama administration is declaring the labor environment in the US to be a sanctuary in which to be illegal. You probably won't hear a peep about this out of the media, as they are all about fairness to aliens above Americans.
Obama went to an Ohio construction site to brag about all the stimulus jobs he's created, and being oblivious to the irony of this, cost the local construction workers a full day's pay for their trouble...

From FoxNews -- President Obama went to the groundbreaking of a road project in Columbus, Ohio, Friday to show that his massive stimulus package is still churning out jobs -- a "good news" story that was anything but for some construction workers who were trying to figure out how to make up for the payday they lost due to the president's visit.

The workers were told not to report to their construction project at a nearby hospital Friday, because the Secret Service was shutting it down for security reasons. They also were told that they would not get paid for the forced day off.

Over a trillion stimulus dollars spent and still unemployment is around 10%, more in some states. Obama's ridiculous, 10minute photo-op/PR stunt cost between $500thousand and $1million to stage. This administration continues to completely ignore the facts and claim that they are putting people back to work, yet the "jobs" are short-lived make-work jobs that will evaporate the second the taxpayer money ends.

Lindsay Lohan never had a chance

This is Dina Lohan, skank mother to perennial reprobate Lindsay. Surprise, she's in trouble for being a dingleberry on her own daughter, again.

So Carvel doled out free-ice-cream cards to 75 celebrities with the stipulation that the celebrity be present to redeem the card. Apparently the Lohan clan has been abusing the card in Lindsay's absence to the point that Carvel took back the card. Mother of the year Dina called the cops when her latest demand for free ice-cream was refused.

"Don't you know who my daughter is? She was in that movie like 10 years ago, now gimme my free triple-scoop of fudge royal.......with sprinkles"!

I am so sick of hearing about stupid Hollywood parents living off their kid's successes. With a stupid, tramp of a mother like Dina, what chance did Lindsay ever really have?

Traffic reporting

Before I left the house this morning, an intrepid traffic reporter warned radio listeners about a wreck in which the female driver was unconscious in the vehicle. Then 20 minutes later at the post office, the same reporter repeated the story about the still unconscious driver. Then as I got out of my car in the parking deck 15 minutes later, I heard the same report again.

I wondered, she might not be unconscious. Somebody had better check for a pulse or something. That's like 35 minutes of unconsciousness, at least. Either that or the radio station had nothing traffic-related to report so they recycled the same story.

Local radio.......so professional!

NBA fans are among the dumbest of all fans

What's that you say? NBA fans riot in the streets of their own city? Vandalizing property, looting, starting fires, fighting one another, and assaulting police officers?

What's to blame? The predictable collapse of civil society against the urban backdrop of dependence and delinquency? A catastrophic weather event? Not hardly, just your garden-variety activity after the NBA finals. No matter who wins, year after year, that team's fans pour out into the streets and become criminals and deviants. How stupid do you have to be to trash your own neighborhoods, vandalize your neighbors' property, and beat each other senseless.....after winning the championship?

Pretty stupid, I'd say.

The government is always part of the problem, never part of the solution

There were six barges in the middle of the Gulf oil spill busily siphoning up hundreds of thousands of crude when the Coast Guard showed up and forced all clean-up operations to stop.

"But why", you ask, "why would the Coast Guard stop the most useful remedy for the spill other than plugging the leak"?

Because just like the HR department where you work, even the Coast Guard is made of useless, government bureaucrats. It seems regulations compel them to check all vessels for fire-extinguishers and the proper number of life vests.....no, I'm not kidding. The barges sat idle for a whole day while the pointy-headed bureaucrats scratched their butts and more oil washed up on beaches. Why couldn't they perform the inspections while the barges continue to work? Any reasonable person would have suggested that.

Governor Jindal was rightly enraged at the abject stupidity of self-important government toads for causing an unnecessary delay in clean-up operations to ensure full compliance with idiotic regulations.

I cannot wait for these guys to take over health-care management for our nation.

Joe Barton's "shakedown" comment was spot on!

BP CEO Tony Hayward showed up yesterday to be tarred and feathered by grandstanding politicians from both parties. It was all just pointless political theater, designed to score populist political points with dumb Americans who're clamoring for empathy from Washington. Nothing makes a craven politician's heart race like an evil executive on his knees letting them kick him repeatedly in the mouth in front of the cameras. If anybody can tell me what the purpose of the hearings were, I'd enjoy hearing all about it.

Now, I'm not saying that BP doesn't bear most if not all the financial and clean-up responsibility for the spill and it's lasting effects, or that Tony Hayward isn't sort of a villain but, when Barton said that Obama's demand for $20billion was a shakedown, he was dead on! There's already a mechanism in place to compensate claims from affected Gulf residents with dozens of offices where claims are being quickly processed. The money is already being doled out. Why should the federal government be involved at all rather than the governors or mayors of the states? Answer: because the current process bypasses the federal bureaucracy and Obama will not let a $20billion pot of gold be spent without his administration directing where it goes. Nor will he allow this crisis be resolved without him receiving all the credit for resolving it. Obama promised that an independent person will see to the distribution of the money, yet he appointed the pay czar Ken Feinberg, a far-leftist Obama drone, to oversee it. Remember how they distributed the billions from the car-company collapse? It all went to the unions. Feinberg, under Rahm Emanual's direction, will direct this BP money to those in Obama's political favor. The lying, obfuscation, and treachery continues unabated from this administration.

My other point is that after Barton exposed the shakedown for what it was, an unconstitutional extortion of money from a private company to which the government has no claim whatsoever, other band-wagon republicans, John Boehner, Mike Pence, and Eric Cantor all piled on Barton to condemn his statement. Yesterday, Hill republicans were no better than degenerate democrats.

This is why republicans like these don't deserve their seats as representatives. When the cameras are rolling and everybody is doing the wrong, though popular thing, they fall in lockstep rather than doing the difficult, correct thing which is to tell the truth. Shame on Boehner, Cantor, and Pence for not standing up for Barton, the only republican with the balls to speak his mind.

What's in Ed's iPod?

With all the political turmoil, environmental tragedy, national upheaval, and impending war between the Koreas, it would be nice to have a few minutes of solitude and peace with which to recharge your batteries and gain a little perspective. And you're probably thinking.....

"That Ed sure seems to have it all together as trouble swirls around him. I wonder, what is his secret to inner harmony that allows his reflective, thoughtful deliberation on the topics of the day?"

Well, I'd like to say it's meditation or yoga or a healthy vegan diet but, I don't believe in any of that crap. I just listen to decent music on my iPod. Here's what I've been jamming to lately.....

Raising the white flag of surrender in Arizona

The reconquering of the American southwest by hostile Mexican aliens has begun, and may end up being the most humiliating legacy among humiliating legacies of Obama.....

From FoxNews -- About 3,500 acres of southern Arizona along the Mexican border is closed to U.S. citizens due to increased violence in the region.

The closed off area stretches 80 miles along the border and includes part of the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge. It was closed in October 2006 "due to human safety concerns," the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said Wednesday in response to news reports on the closure.

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu told Fox News that violence against law enforcement officers and U.S. citizens has increased in the past four months, further underscoring the need to keep the 80 miles of border land off-limits to Americans.

Asked: Since when does the US surrender land in any fight with hostile invaders? Why isn't the US military down there taking live-fire target practice against anything that moves?

Answered: because Barack Obama and the progressive left want 12-20 million new dependent, democrat voters to secure a permanent majority for themselves. Plus, socialists like Obama detest the United States and everything it stands for, which makes it all the more preposterous that we allowed the dastardly media to install him into the office of President in the first place.

We are afraid to fight so we just give up and let them have sovereign US territory......UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE!!!

As the nation crumbles, Obama squanders $1.2B on bike paths that nobody uses

Is this really the proper role of the federal government?

From the Telegraph.co.uk -- The Obama administration more than doubled spending on cycling and walking initiatives to $1.2 billion (£810 million) last year as it seeks to coax Americans out of their cars.

I like the idea of bike paths and walking trails but, why should tax-paying citizens everywhere be burdened with funding these indulgences for just a few? This should be a local government function. If a community wants a bike path, they can pay for it themselves. Besides, the lack of places to walk and bike aren't why Americans are fat and lazy. We are fat and lazy because we choose to be fat and lazy.

Katie Cupcake thinks a Prius will assuage her eco-guilt

Katie Couric, probably the most vacuous of all the teleprompter readers on TV, gave an interview the other day in which she blamed the BP oil spill on Americans for driving cars, and she promised to buy a Prius to do her part....

Chirped America's favorite cupcake....“We are responsible for creating this problem” in the Gulf of Mexico “and we have to start contemplating our choices in terms of energy,” so “hopefully something like this will really force people to reconsider their choices.”

I swear, Prius drivers think that every trip they take to Starbucks is directly saving a polar bear, preventing the extinction of an African speckled newt, or getting them into heaven easier.

Radical environmentalism, lax oversight, and mechanical failure are responsible for the oil spill. It had nothing to do with petroleum demand. Regardless of how small and efficient our cars are, overall world demand will continue to increase because of developing countries like China and India. Katie Cupcake should know this basic tenet of petroleum-market economics.

Obama's underwhelming speech last night was woefully short on substance and long on self-service and ambivalence. In the first two minutes he repeated three times how his administration was on top of the situation from day 1. Obviously any person who is not Rachael Maddow, David Axelrod, or insane must call BS on this claim. Only after pressure from the public and media, weeks into the crisis, did Obama even gaze in the direction of the Gulf. Insulting Bush with Paul McCartney must have been just too much fun to notice.

Then he comforted delusional democrats by telling them about the commission and czar he wisely appointed to handle the particulars of cause and clean-up.

He closed with a predictable call for comprehensive energy policy changes. What he means is cap and trade, a disastrous maneuver that will finally finish killing what is left of the American economy. I guess nobody told him the cap-and-trade bill was dead in congress already. Never the less, his attempt at craven exploitation of the spill to make political hay is abhorrent and embarrassing.

In between his dishonest opening and inappropriately political closing, was an unconstitutional threat to seize BP profits for his own use, and pitiful attempts at convincing us he is an engaged President, with sympathetic anecdotes of gulf-coast hardships from his four brief photo-ops down here. In short, it was a thin, pointless address that reminded us of the lack of depth, experience, and competence of Chairman Zero.

Atlas Shrugged....the movie.....FINALLY!!!

Fans of Atlas have been waiting for this for a very long time....

From Variety -- The long-brewing feature version of author Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" has begun shooting in Los Angeles as a $5 million indie produced by John Aglialoro and Harmon Kaslow.
Cameras began rolling over the weekend on a five-week shoot for "Atlas Shrugged Part One" with Paul Johansson directing from Brian Patrick O'Toole's script.

CAST:

Paul Johansson ("One Tree Hill").....John Galt

Taylor Schilling ("Mercy)......Dagny Taggart

Grant Bowler ("Ugly Betty")......Hank Reardon

Apparently it'll be done in three parts since it's such a long story. I seriously hope they do it right. I'll be profoundly disappointed if they miss the points and pollute it with predictable Hollywood liberalism.

Outsourcing leadership

It's been a while since The One added to his long and distinguished list of domestic czars, but he's been told that there's another crisis afoot. So what's a dithering, ineffectual president to do but appoint a commission to think about it and a czar to micro-manage it....

From Agence France-Presse -- President Barack Obama, in his televised speech to the nation Tuesday, will announce the creation of an oil recovery “czar” to oversee progress in siphoning crude from the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, his chief spokesman said.

Speaking on ABC television’s “Good Morning America” program, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said the position is envisioned as “somebody that will be in charge of a recovery plan, putting a recovery plan together…when we get past the cleanup and response phase of this disaster.”

Aren't there enough leaders on the ground in the Gulf already? Thad Allen, Gov. Jindal, etc? Obama should announce on TV tonight, that anybody with a skimmer or siphon barge can come to the Gulf and skim and siphon as much crude oil as they like and any money they make by selling it, they can keep. If he had done that on day 3, I'll be none of the oil would have reached the beaches and estuaries. Enterprising boat captains would have taken care of the spill and BP would have been more motivated to cap the well faster. Instead, Obama spent two critical weeks thinking about it, and then didn't act. Now it's too late.

Outsourcing the management of the crisis to a czar only makes Obama look weak and indecisive....which he is. Worse, it exposes his administration as the craven, political opportunists they are. Clearly, all the thinking they were doing as oil polluted Gulf beaches, was how to capitalize on the spill politically.

Princess Leia has embraced the dark side of the Force

Princess Leia(Carrie Fisher) gave in interview to what is obviously a liberal troll, about Obama.....heartache!!!

From Hotair -- *language warning*

Is there anyone you haven’t met that you’ve always wanted to?
Obama.

I’m surprised you haven’t met him.
I know. I love him. Hopefully I’ll meet him sometime. I’m just happy he exists.
Do you think Tea Party is just people who are pissed that there is an African American president?
Yup, and the fact that they chose to call themselves “teabaggers,” which is slang for a certain act involving b***s. It sort of says a lot. I would say a mouthful. Looks like it’s very upsetting for them, but he’s brilliant. The thing is, he’s half white but that’s still not enough — for them it’s all white or f**k off. I think we don’t deserve him and certainly teabaggers don’t deserve him.

Maybe Carrie should drop some more acid. She's so messed up she doesn't realize that only liberals use the term "teabaggers". You'd have thought that Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher would have had a smarter and better looking daughter.

Democrats don't like being challenged

Thug democrat congressmen Bob Ethridge from NC assaults a student reporter who is just asking him a simple question....

Any citizen has the right to question any politician holding national office...period! This is what's in store for all Americans if democrats succeed in preserving their stranglehold on power...they'll feel free to exercise it by strong-arming any little person who dares challenge them. The democrats want to establish a large, permanent majority in DC come hell or high water, and they think that nobody has the right to question them about it. If I was Renee Ellmers' campaign manager(Renee Ellmers is Ethridges's electoral opponent in November) I'd be running ads from now until the election featuring this assault by Ethridge.

Afghanistan to join the rest of the modern world?

This is the price of practicing backwards, Islamic fundamentalism and basing your economy on supplying heroin to the world's addicts.....

From NYTimes -- WASHINGTON — The United States has discovered nearly $1 trillion in untapped mineral deposits in Afghanistan, far beyond any previously known reserves and enough to fundamentally alter the Afghan economy and perhaps the Afghan war itself, according to senior American government officials.

The previously unknown deposits — including huge veins of iron, copper, cobalt, gold and critical industrial metals like lithium — are so big and include so many minerals that are essential to modern industry that Afghanistan could eventually be transformed into one of the most important mining centers in the world, the United States officials believe.

An internal Pentagon memo, for example, states that Afghanistan could become the “Saudi Arabia of lithium,” a key raw material in the manufacture of batteries for laptops and BlackBerrys.

In exchange for killing every last, dirty, Taliban, terrorist pig in Afghanistan, the U.S. should take whatever minerals we like in an amount that equals the cost of our effort there. These primitive, third-world nomads haven't a clue how to wash their dirty night shirts much less how to mine lithium and copper from the Earth. All they know how to do is herd goats, manufacture heroin, and kill each other. If we end up turning Afghanistan in to the mining capital of the world, then maybe I could agree with our being there.

Sexual objectification of women is A-OK with the MSM as long as the object is Sarah Palin

You can tell when an attractive, strong, conservative woman is getting too successful and powerful in the eyes of the self-important media....they try to disassemble her by reducing her to her lady parts. Greta had Palin on her show the other night to address, among serious topics, the web rumor that she's had a boob job. Here's Palin's excellent response....

From Hotair -- “I think some of those folks, too, they need to perhaps grab a shovel, go down to the Gulf, volunteer to help, clean up and save a whale or something.”

Heh heh! "...save a whale".

Where are the undatable feminists to whine about lingering social misogyny in patriarchal American culture? Anytime a blogger or anybody on the right makes a joke about how hideously unattractive women on the left tend to be, we're treated to self-righteous, finger-wagging lectures about sexual objectification of women and double standards, yet it's OK when it happens to a conservative woman like Sarah Palin. Talk about double standards!

So that's what a vuvuzela is

I've tried to watch a couple of World Cup matches but there's a constant buzz-like droning coming from the TV. I didn't know what it was until I found this article...

From Drudge -- JOHANNESBURG — World Cup organising committee head Danny Jordaan on Sunday did not rule out banning vuvuzelas, the noisy plastic trumpets which have proved a hit with fans in South Africa but threaten to deafen players and viewers alike.

Criticism of the vuvuzelas has been almost as loud as the instruments themselves with broadcasting companies complaining the din is almost drowning out commentary.

The noise from these stupid horns makes the match practically unwatchable. Apparently fans in South Africa are playing them from 6 in the morning until they pass out drunk, well after midnight. Teams cannot get proper sleep, players can barely hear each other during matches, and some teams are even blaming the incessant drone on poor game performance. That may be a stretch but, the big concern is that TV audiences around the world are tuning out because it's so irritating to listen to for a 2-hour show.

If organizers detect a loss of world-wide, advertising revenue because fans refuse to stop blowing their stupid plastic, Dr. Seuss trumpets, watch for a quick ban on them in the stadiums during games. International soccer hooligans should return to the storied traditions of 24/7 drinking, hiring prostitutes, and fighting each other in the stands and pubs and let the rest of the world enjoy the televised product without their annoying intrusion.

The reactionary presidency

Tomorrow's meeting between Chairman Zero and BP-CEO Tony Hayward shows that Obama isn't acting to manage the oil spill disaster but reacting to public pressure days or weeks after it's detected....

*When the Deep Horizon blew up and sank, Obama seemed not even to notice, much less visit the area regardless of dire warnings of a massive shore damage possibly in the hundreds of billions. It was only when governors Jindal, Barber, Riley, and Crist created a public outcry by pointing out that the feds were responsible for disaster management, did Obama decide to pay a token visit.

*When the media began reporting on Obama's absence and apparent lack of leadership in the spill matter, only then did Obama give his, "the buck stops with me" speech.

*Only when it was pointed out the the archaic Jones Act of 1920, which prevents foreign ships from doing commerce between American ports unless they fly the American flag and are crewed by Americans, needs to be repealed by executive order immediately so that clean-up aid from other countries may be accepted, did the Obama administration decide to "look into it".

*And only after 55 days of incredulity of the American people as reflected by the increasingly impatient media has Obama decided to meet with BP-CEO Tony Hayward to discuss directly, mano-a-mano, the oil spill, clean up response, and it's implications for future deep-water drilling operations.

Shouldn't the American people expect a leader who acts decisively in an emergency rather than a stooge who reluctantly reacts, and only then when public pressure is applied after the fact?

California considers the unthinkable

That Gov. Moonbeam is even a potential winner in the land of nutjobs shows what a messed up state California really is....

From Hotair -- Meg Whitman’s mega-win in Tuesday’s Republican Primary has thrown her into a virtual tie once again with Democrat Jerry Brown in the race to be the next governor of California.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in California, taken last night, shows Brown with 45% of the vote, while Whitman earns 44% support. Four percent (4%) prefer some other candidate, and seven percent (7%) are undecided.

With the entire state in union and alien-caused, economic free-fall, you'd think that a wildly successful business woman would be an easy cinch to be the one to pull it back from total catastrophe. That is if it's any state but California where far-left progressives like union thugs, deranged environmentalists, and self-involved actors run things.

Jerry Brown is 27 years removed from his last term as governor. Moreover, he's a career, big-government politician who knows nothing of creating jobs, cutting government spending, or balancing budgets. As such, he represents the status-quo incumbent and Meg Whitman would in any other state except maybe Vermont, be ahead in the polls by large double-digits. If Californians really want to be brought back from the brink of apocalyptic disaster, they'll kick Jerry Brown back to Oakland's office of mayor and let Meg Whitman do the hard work that between them, only she knows how to do.

Prince Charles is still a silly, royal moron

Prince Jughead bored an audience of thousands yesterday with a tedious, hour-long speech in which he used the stellar example of Islam as a rationalization for good stewardship of the environment....

From DailyMail -- Prince Charles yesterday urged the world to follow Islamic 'spiritual principles' in order to protect the environment.

In an hour-long speech, the heir to the throne argued that man's destruction of the world was contrary to the scriptures of all religions - but particularly those of Islam.

He said the current 'division' between man and nature had been caused not just by industrialisation, but also by our attitude to the environment - which goes against the grain of 'sacred traditions'.

'Islam has always taught this and to ignore that lesson is to default on our contract with creation.'

If he also used the example of Islam as a rationalization for how to treat women, that would explain how obviously miserable Diana was being married to him and why she scrammed at the first opportunity.

Prince Charles's bizarre, singular obsession with the imaginary phenomenon of global warming almost disqualifies him from being the King of England one day....that is, if anybody took the British royal family seriously.

H1N1 -- the pandemic that wasn't

Remember the H1N1 scare with which the World Health Organization terrorized every one? Turns out many of the "experts" that advised the WHO on how to prepare for the certain viral calamity, were on the payroll of the same pharmaceutical companies that sold the antiviral drugs everybody was clamoring for. Seems they conveniently forgot to disclose this obvious conflict of interest.

I'm sure they're enjoying their big-pharma-provided, tropical vacations right about now and having a big laugh at how easy it was to scare the world with the imaginary menace of an H1N1 pandemic. Because of their dire warnings, entire countries bought up billions in anti-viral medicines to protect us from infections that only a handful of people got, and I'm sure the pharm companies were appreciative.

Here is the H1N1 advisory committee, living large at our expense.

Intrepid AP reporter discovers that oil is oily

This stupid AP reporter decided to jump into the BP oil slick and was evidently shocked, shocked to find that it's oily...

From Googlenews -- UNDER THE MURKY DEPTHS OF THE GULF OF MEXICO — Some 40 miles out into the Gulf Of Mexico, I jump off the boat into the thickest patch of red oil I've ever seen. I open my eyes and realize my mask is already smeared. I can't see anything and we're just five seconds into the dive.

Dropping beneath the surface the only thing I see is oil. To the left, right, up and down — it sits on top of the water in giant pools, and hangs suspended fifteen feet beneath the surface in softball sized blobs. There is nothing alive under the slick, although I see a dead jellyfish and handful of small bait fish.

I guess when you've done all the "dead wildlife", "evil BP CEO", and "struggling local business" stories, there's nothing left but to jump into the object of all the fuss.

The single most annoying girl on the planet

This is the latest Internet sensation Lexi Bee. If Christina Aguilera had unprotected sex with one of those troll pencil erasers, and the offspring was lobotomized and fell face-first into a tackle-box, it would bear a remarkable resemblance to Lexi Bee.....

That she's an Internet sensation says as much about the vapidity and hopelessness of western civilization as it does about her lack of basic language and grooming skills. If you made it past 20 seconds without vomiting your Apple-Jacks onto your keyboard, you're a better person than me.

Never bring a rock to a gun fight

Let this be a cautionary tale:

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico (AP) - Mexicans are seething over the second death of a countryman at the hands of U.S. Border Patrol agents in two weeks, an incident near downtown El Paso that is threatening to escalate tensions over migrant issues.

U.S. authorities said Tuesday a Border Patrol agent was defending himself and colleagues when he fatally shot the 15-year-old as officers came under a barrage of big stones while trying to detain illegal immigrants on the U.S. side of the Rio Grande.

That's too bad for the family of that kid, but how stupid do you have to be to throw rocks at police with guns? Because we've allowed illegals to cross our unguarded borders at will for so many years, they believe it is their right to do so.....it is NOT! If you don't have any more respect for armed authorities than to throw rocks at them, then I'm sorry but, you deserve to be shot.

The rise of conservative women

Above: Carly Fiorina (R) CA., Nikki Haley (R) SC-Gov., Meg Whitman (R) CA-Gov., and Sharron Angle (R) NV.

The races aren't over yet, these are just the primaries but, victories by decidedly conservative women last night signal at least two good things about the future of American politics:

First, incumbency is no guarantee of re-election. The good old boy network of old men in Washington conniving to help each other retain their seats of power is hopefully over. And thanks to Obama's shocking over-reach on domestic spending and nationalization of industry and finance, Americans have awoken from their hopey-changey slumber, are finally paying attention, and are having none of it.

Second, I think it's a good thing to have more strong business-women in DC and governorships. The age of the conservative feminist is here. No longer will whiny, male-bashing hags like Gloria Steinem have sole claim to be the voice of American women. These conservative women represent what modern feminism claims to be but falls woefully short. They are smart, successful in the private sector, and will fight for smaller government and lower taxes on small businesses. In short, they understand what makes America run and be successful in the world.....unlike Obama's "dream-team" of highly educated theorists, none of whom have a shred of actual experience creating jobs, meeting payrolls, limiting costs, and making profits.

Footnote: Sarah Palin's influence cannot be overstated here. Her endorsement of Nikki Haley and Carly Fiorina played a huge role in their successes last night. Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman being front and center of the tea-party movement since Obama's election has signaled acceptance among voters of conservative women as strong leaders. I applaud that, without reservation.

Big Brother government

I'm not too happy about this eventuality....

NEW YORK (AP) — Alarmed by the use of hard-to-track prepaid cell phones by terror suspects, New York Sen. Chuck Schumer and Texas Sen. John Cornyn have introduced legislation requiring consumers to produce identification before buying such phones.

The bill has been praised by law enforcement and has bipartisan support, even as civil liberties groups have raised privacy concerns and some terror experts say it won't deter bad behavior.

Making people show IDs as a prerequisite for purchasing pre-paid phones will do nothing to stop terrorism, or any other crime for that matter. Unless you link, at the time of purchase, the buyers ID with the phone's unique ID, what good does it do since the phones are essentially untraceable and disposable? All this does is inconvenience regular citizens who can't, or prefer not to, afford expensive cell phone contracts.

My libertarian alarms started ringing when I read this. I think it's just another way for our snoopy government overlords to try keep up with us under the guise of fighting terrorism.

You'd expect this sort of crap from Chuck "the schmuck" Shumer but Cornyn should know better.

Hall and Oats....a couple of tools!

Since when did Daryl Hall and John Oates decided they were relevant again....

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced Monday that Daryl Hall and John Oates canceled their post game concert scheduled for July 2 at Chase Field because of their personal stance against Arizona's new immigration law.

If your career has fallen to the point that you are playing gigs after baseball games, perhaps turning down that paycheck for ideological reasons isn't such a bright idea.

A few bad apples.....

Come on people, we're better than this. According to an article over at Salon.com, protesters of the proposed ground-zero mosque spotted, then surrounded, two Egyptian men who were speaking Arabic, in the assumption that they were Muslims who supported the mosque. They were shouted at and told to go home. Eventually the police had to take them away for their own protection. Turns out however, they were Christians who had flown from California to protest the mosque themselves.

I realize this is an isolated incident but the liberal media will use it over and over as evidence of the race-based hatred conservatives have for Arabs. It gives them ammunition with which to harm the real cause which is to keep radical Islam out of the US in general and stop the erection of a mosque within spitting distance of ground zero specifically. We have to show that we are an open and welcoming society or the left will kill us with our bigotry.

Too little too late

Transparently responding to criticism for being detached and uncaring about the oil spill, Chairman Zero adopted a bully posture in an interview with Matt Lauer....

"I don't sit around just talking to experts because this is a college seminar, we talk to these folks because they potentially have the best answers, so I know whose ass to kick."

This is beyond pathetic! I'm sure Rahm and Axelrod contrived the "ass-kicking" phrase for The One to throw down at just the right minute to show the American people that he's serious, angry, and engaged. I'm sure liberal women are swooning this morning at the machismo of Obama but, the rest of us know it's a charade. The oil spill is little more than an unwanted diversion and a nuisance. He'd rather be playing golf, hosting lavish concerts at taxpayer expense, and taking Michelle on absurdly expensive date nights, and he resents that Americans resent him for being less than enthusiastic about the impact of the BP spill.

Yeah, this ought to do the trick

This is on par with the stupidity and uselessness of renaming French Fries, "Freedom Fries" because we were angry with France at one point....

VIERA, Fla. — In lieu of recent events regarding the British Petroleum (BP) oil spill of the Gulf Coast of the United States, the Brevard County Manatees have announced that the club will be officially changing the name of “batting practice” or “BP” for short to “hitting rehearsal”.

“As an organization we feel that changing the term ‘batting practice’ and ‘BP’ to ‘hitting rehearsal’ shows that we are deeply concerned and hurt by the disaster on the Gulf Coast,” Manatees General Manager Kyle Smith said.

Hitting rehearsal? I'm sure the Gulf Coast fishermen, hoteliers, restaurateurs, etc., whose lives are on the brink of ruin because of the BP spill appreciate this touching gesture of solidarity. Why not just say the words "batting practice" if you're so offended by the term "BP"? Or better yet, help out with the clean up? Seriously, do these morons sleep better at night thinking they helped out by changing the name of a pre-game baseball ritual? Too bad the leaky hole can't be plugged with stupidity and thoughtlessness, 'cause there's plenty to go around in Viera.

Obama's insidious plan for America

This op-ed by Wayne Allyn Root over at TheFoxNation describes Obama's pernicious scheme to plunge the US into second-rate status. Here's an excerpt....

Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University. They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands. Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.

He exposes item by item how Obama's plan will destroy America as we know it. This is a must read!

Let them eat cake

Now that the BP oil leak has been plugged and the spill cleaned up, war between the Korea's has been averted, and Iran has abandoned it's nuclear ambitions, President Obama can finally enjoy a much deserved evening of relaxation and entertainment with his family.....oh, wait!

The Obama's evidently see themselves as king and queen of America. They had their asses kissed by vapid, B-list celebrities for the second time this week at a Ford Theater gathering for Bishop Desmond Tutu(famous America and Jew hater). That The One ignored the anniversary of the D-Day invasion in which several thousand Americans gave their lives to liberate Europe from Hitler's reign of terror, demonstrates his loathing of the military specifically and his dismissal of events that don't include praise of himself, in general.

The Obama's must feel they deserve the sycophantic adoration and deification they get from dumb, Hollywood dingbats. Otherwise how do you explain their constant hosting of lavish parties stocked with worshipful celebrities and other assorted dingle berries, while regular Americans by the hundreds of thousands languish under economic, domestic, and overseas uncertainty and hardship?

Congratulations...El Rushbo!

Looks like El Rushbo is tying the knot again. Good for him....

It's wedding bells for Rush Limbaugh – for the fourth time.

The conservative firebrand, 59, exchanged vows with Kathryn Rogers – a blond bombshell half his age – in a lavish Hawaiian-themed wedding bash headlined by none-other-than Sir Elton John Saturday in Florida.

It's an odd pairing considering El Rushbo's history of anti-gay commentary on his conservative radio show and the openly gay "Tiny Dancer" singer's longtime commitment to gay rights.

Of course you would expect the media to miss entirely how it came to be that Elton John played at Rush's wedding.....sheer greed. Or as I like to call it...capitalism.

First, Lauren Johnston of the NYDailyNews claims that Rush is anti-gay. To my knowledge, and I've been a listener for about 20 years, Rush has never said anything against being gay specifically. He rails regularly against the liberal, political positions and victim mentality of many gays, both of which are fair game but, it's never about being gay.

The other point is that Elton John, despite what he would claim, is above all else, a capitalist. Rush wanted Elton John, evidently a fav of Kathryn's, to perform at the reception more than he wanted the $million it cost to make it happen. And Elton wanted the $million payday more than he cared about Rush's political opinions toward the gay agenda.

See, the magic of unfettered capitalism brought two diametrically opposed personalities together for mutual benefit. How cool would it be if the whole world worked like that?

There is an irony alert here though: Rush likes to talk about the sanctity of marriage and all that, yet he's getting married for the fourth time. I always say, nobody has made a bigger mockery of marriage than us straight people. How could gays do any worse? Just sayin'.

Hat tip to Hotair.

This dude's in the wrong band

In case you haven't seen it already, this might just be the greatest drum performance of all time. It's like on his way to play at a frat-house heavy-metal gig, he took a wrong turn and ended up at the Finklestein bar mitzvah and thought, what the heck?
