“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Wayward republicans just as vulnerable in 2012 as democrats

Regular reader Barry posted this picture on his Facebook page and I borrowed it.....

Once in office, politicians aren't know for their adherence to the principles that got them elected. Many republicans learned this lesson the hard way in the 2010 midterms.

While we conservatives are watching the democrats and looking for vulnerabilities, they cannot disappoint us. We know the nanny-State tripe to expect from them. It's the republicans who we should be watching even more closely, and if any stray too far from core conservative principles....off with their heads in 2012!

Finally, Washington embraces the smart way to kill terrorists

It's about time the bureaucrats arrived at this conclusion....

From MSNBC -- WASHINGTON — The United States will push ahead with more targeted drone strikes and special operations raids and fewer costly land battles like Iraq and Afghanistan in the continuing war against al-Qaida, according to a new national counterterrorism strategy unveiled Wednesday.

I don't get why we didn't take the surgical-strike approach all along. Why put Americans at risk, and at great expense, in a war that we cannot win? We aren't winning hearts and minds in Afghanistan. They don't even have a functioning government. How can we expect to nation build in a tribal, utterly corrupt, backwoods hell-hole where heroin, fighting, and terrorism are the national past-times?

"But Ed" you whine, "surgical strikes might kill innocent civilians. We must have strict rules of engagement."

Shut up! There are no innocent civilians in Afghanistan. Heroin is practically the only form of income there. I'm not going to weep over a few collateral losses.....besides, they probably did something else and deserved what they get.

This is Mitt Romney signing the awful Mass. health-care bill into law, to the delight of none other than Ted Kennedy.

Romney is in New Hampshire this week bragging about his ability to find common ground with democrats, like he did with Romneycare in MA., but is that a feature of his candidacy or a detraction? "Finding common ground with democrats" is code for caving in to them because they never give in to republicans. This obsession with bipartisanship is precisely why I can't get excited about a Romney presidency. And as Michelle Malkin points out, any Americans who want a president who can get along and compromise with democrats will vote for Obama. Romney might be the only GOP candidate who cannot beat Obama.

George Stephanopolous gets schooled on US history

The despicable media has made much of Michele Bachmann's supposed mistake when she said that the founding fathers had fought against slavery. Liberal toady George Stephanopolous challenged her history saying, "Now with respect Congresswoman, that's just not true."

As it turns out George, she is precisely correct. Over at American Spectator there's an article by Jeffrey Lord highlighting Mark Levin's evisceration of George S. where he shows published writings by no less than Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and Alexander Hamilton in which they argued for the end of slavery.

In addition, the 3/5th's compromise which we've gone over here at TRR before, was included in the original Constitutional convention. It's specific purpose was to diminish the influence of slave states in the convention.

I wonder if George will offer the on-air apology that Michele Bachmann deserves? I won't be holding my breath.

In this week's animal eats child story, drugs were involved.....surprised?

How's this for predictability?

From CBSDetroit -- A 29-year-old Lincoln Park mother and her 35-year-old boyfriend are expected to turn themselves in for arraignment this week.

Police said the woman’s five-year-old physically disabled son, Kyle Holland, was attacked by the man’s pet wolf-dog hybrid, last July, while he slept.

The boy’s mother, Deborah Lane Holland and her boyfriend Earl Dwayne Adkins are both charged with the child’s death. They also face separate charges in connection with more than a dozen marijuana plants that police said were being grown in Adkins’ basement.

Is it just me or does it seem like every time a wild animal, kept domestically, kills and eats a child, the animal always belongs to the idiot, live-in boyfriend?

By a show of hands, who's not surprised that the couple isn't married, that drugs were involved, or that it happened in Detroit? OK, that's 1....2....like everybody!

Media ignores black-on-white crime

From a story over at Occidentaldissent via Moonbattery -- This is Carter Strange of Columbia, South Carolina. He was jogging home one night through the 5-points area when a mob of black guys attacked him and almost killed him. He needed emergency brain surgery to relieve pressure.

Why'd they attack him? For no reason other than he was white and vulnerable. Read about other black-on-white mob attacks in Chicago here, here, in Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Akron. The list goes on and on. Yet the media, especially in Chicago, refuse to report the race of the mobs or of the victims. And nationally, these alarmingly frequent stories are all but ignored entirely. The reality of angry, thug blacks being the victimizers and whites being the innocent victims doesn't fit the media paradigm of racial justice they like to report on. It's the same reason you have to search the news archives to find that 99.99% of terrorism is perpetrated by swarthy, Muslim males, ages 17-28. If whites are the victimizers and any minority is the victim, they'll report it as if the world is coming to an end, but if whites are the victims of minorities, they shrug and look the other way.

This is what 40 years of liberal, social policies that encourage dependence, dereliction, no personal responsibility, and victim group-think have done to black culture. How does that make you feel, democrats?

If you don't have a conceal/carry permit for a powerful handgun, get one and be prepared to protect yourself and your family. Don't end up like Carter Strange.

Junk food for me, but not for thee

During their African odyssey, Michelle Obama took the girls to a local eatery and gorged on french fries and something gross sounding called fat cakes. I guess because of her exalted position above us little people, she can tell us what we can and can't feed our kids, but she and her kids can eat all the crap they want.

What the heck is a fat cake?

What do you think?

Vietnam vet Fred Quigley has this flagpole in his front yard, but the HOA in his neighborhood has a rule forbidding front-yard flag poles. It is fine with the HOA to fly a flag if the pole is attached to your house the way most people fly flags.

The question is, does his right to fly the American flag any way he chooses(if that right actually exists) supersede the HOA's rule about flag flying?

My thinking is that he should have read the HOA rules before buying in that neighborhood, or if the rules were written after he moved in, then they don't necessarily apply to him. It's reflexive to say that of course he should be able to fly the American flag on a pole, but that opens the door for anybody to fly whatever flags they like on poles in all the front yards in the neighborhood. Would that be OK with everybody? I doubt it.

What do you think?

Chris Christie needs to bust the public-sector union mob

Chris Christie is kicking union ass and taking names....

From FoxNews -- TRENTON - New Jersey lawmakers on Thursday approved a broad rollback of benefits for 750,000 government workers and retirees, the deepest cut in state and local costs in memory, in a major victory for Gov. Chris Christie and a once-unthinkable setback for the state's powerful public employee unions.

First Walker in Wisconsin, now Christie in New Jersey, hopefully California will be next. Everywhere you look politicians, emboldened by taxpayer insistence, are wisely shredding the outrageous salary contracts and cushy benefits packages of the union goons. American taxpayers have had enough of the lavish employment contracts showered upon greedy union mobs by bribed politicians.

This is all great, but some President still needs to kick some ass of the public-sector union thugs....and Christie's wearing the boots that can do it. I wish he'd run.

Timothy Geithner wants more of your money

Timothy Geithner demonstrates again why he is a contemptible, utter embarrassment.....

From FoxNews -- Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told the House Small Business Committee on Wednesday that the Obama administration believes taxes on small business must increase so the administration does not have to "shrink the overall size of government programs."

The idea of shrinking the size and scope of the behemoth, federal bureaucracy is anathema to liberals. If they feel like they don't have enough of other peoples' money to hand out to the derelict class in exchange for votes, the obvious answer to them is to just take some more away from the productive class by raising taxes. I swear, the awfulness of the Obama administration personnel cannot be overstated!

The Captain America theatrical trailer......excellent!

Captain America was my favorite comic book hero and our fear of Nazis was still fresh in the 60's so yeah, I'm going to see this....

Cross Jon Huntsman off your list

Jon Huntsman thinks that moderates and blue-dog democrats in red states are his ticket to the white house. His lame strategy is to concentrate his efforts in states where cross-party voting is allowed in primaries. He's signaled that he'll essentially abandon the tea-party base and woo moderates, independents, and conservative democrats to vote for him in GOP primaries.

This is the same strategy that Rush used in 2008, but for fun and giggles, which he called Operation Chaos, when he urged registered republicans to vote for Hillary in their state primaries in an attempt to force Obama to spend huge amounts of money when Hillary would have already been out of the race otherwise.

This is a losing strategy. Huntsman overestimates his ability to appeal to liberals and underestimates the revulsion republicans will have toward a guy who tries to court the center-left voting block by abandoning the right. That's OK though, he wasn't going to get my vote any way.

There's a new worst singer in town, and her name is Courtney Stodden

Remember Rebecca Black's "It's Friday" and how it made you want to shove a fondue fork in your ears? Well, this is 16 year old Courtney Stodden trying to make it in the music world the tried and true way.....with raunch.....

So I guess if you're still reading this, you didn't slash your wrists during the video. This talentless moron's idiot parents just gave their permission for her to marry 51 year old "Lost" actor Doug Hutchinson, who's been pretending to be her manager while he figures out a legal way into her pants.

Are Obama's re-election chances waning?

From FoxNation -- Americans are growing increasingly more frustrated with President Barack Obama’s handling of the economy and only 3 in 10 say they are certain they will vote to re-elect him in 2012, a new poll finds.

I'll believe that Obama won't be our next President when I see it. Unlike no other incumbent, Obama has the media totally and completely in the tank for him. They have too much personally and professionally investing in his success to let him fail. His failure to win re-election reflects badly on them, in their minds. In my mind, they couldn't look any worse.

The GOP has to nominate a viable candidate in order to beat Obama and the media. Another McCain or Dole isn't going to beat him. The argument is that the wild-eyed nuts that Obama counted on last time aren't as excited this time. He's no longer the cool, black guy, who by voting for him, relieves their white guilt. But the GOP guy has got to excite our side too. If both voting blocks are unexcited, then I think Obama wins again because the media will tip the scales in his favor, again.

Mark Levin schools Fareed Zakaria

If you have a few minutes, listen to constitutional scholar Mark Levin eviscerate and embarrass the incompetent boob Fareed Zakaria regarding his assessment of, and plan for, rewriting the US Constitution....

That's good stuff!

CNN hired another moron

Idiot talking head over at CNN, Fareed Zakaria lectures the unsophisticated masses in America about how unfair and archaic our Constitution is by pointing out the imbalance in the Senate where Wisconsin gets the same representation as California even though their populations are vastly different....

From TheDailyCaller -- The structure of the Senate is even more undemocratic, with Wisconsin’s six million inhabitants getting the same representation in the Senate as California’s 36 million people. That’s not exactly one man, one vote.

No wonder CNN hired him. He is utterly clueless. The House of Representatives represents the interests of the people according to their relative population numbers in their state districts. The Senate was designated to represent the interests of each state as a whole, thus equal representation of two senators per state, regardless of population. Otherwise California would dominate every electoral process and bill....how is that fair Fareeeeeed?

American kids are unprepared for jobs

If this isn't a wake-up call for education reform in the US, I don't know what is....

From CNBC -- Eric Spiegel, chief executive in the US for Siemens [SI 131.77 0.54 (+0.41%) ], the German engineering group, said the problem exposed weaknesses in education and training in the US. Siemens had been forced to use more than 30 recruiters and hire staff from other companies to find the workers it needed for its expansion plans, even amid an unemployment rate of 9.1 percent.

With high school emphasis on self-esteem, sex education, and self-entitlement and stupid college majors such as women's studies, black studies, and philosophy, it's no wonder the unemployment rate is 9.1% and there aren't enough skilled Americans to fill the jobs that are available.

With education and skills priorities this far out of whack, is anybody surprised the US is circling the toilet bowl of demise?

Beautiful people get rejected for not being beautiful....heh heh

This is so perfectly karmic, adequate words to describe it escape me.....

From MyFoxNY -- (NewsCore) - An exclusive online meeting place billed as a dating website for "beautiful men and women" was causing new outrage Monday after dumping 30,000 members deemed too ugly.

Last month Beautifulpeople.com was the victim of a cyber attack in which the Shrek virus -- named after the ugly animated character -- attacked the software used to screen applicants, allowing an influx of new members, The Guardian reported.

Unfortunately several thousand of those members failed to meet the Denmark-based site's aesthetic standards, and have now been dropped.

Such is the level of fury, the site's operators have set up a counseling helpline to ease the pain of rejection.

How hilarious is it when smug narcissists who want to exclude those who they deem to be not beautiful enough to date, themselves get excluded from the club for not being beautiful enough to date?

Funnier still, these shallow, self-absorbed airheads need counseling to deal with the same pain of rejection they inflict on others. Welcome to the real world ass-holes! How's that feel?

Matt Kibbe's sideburns.....heh heh

This is Matt Kibbe of FreedomWorks, a tea party group that is making news by opposing the re-election of Sen. Orin Hatch of Utah. Shannon Breem interviewed him about that on FoxNews this morning and not once did she ask him about those ridiculous sideburns. I couldn't even remember the interview for wondering why a grown man who wears a suit to work and whose organization lives and dies by credibility, would grow sideburns like that.

Fast and Furious likely to be Holder's downfall

With any luck and assuming the media don't provide political cover, Operation Fast and Furious by all rights should spell the end of incompetent racist Eric Holder's career at DOJ.

OF&F was an ATF program by which thousands of assault weapons were allowed to be sold by legitimate gun dealers to known Mexican cartel representatives, then traced as they were inevitably used in crimes in Mexico. Unforeseen was the likelihood that those very guns might be used to kill American border patrol officers on US soil, which is exactly what happened.

It is inconceivable to me that an operation like that would go forward without Eric Holders blessing. He'll deny that he had any knowledge but four border patrol officers have already stated officially that the operation was approved at the highest levels of ATF, which would include the DOJ.

A criminal scandal right under Obama's nose featuring AG Eric Holder would do much harm to Obama's re-election chances, but like with all political scandals, it all depends on how hard the media pursues the story.....and I wouldn't count on the US media to pursue it very stridently as they would if it were the Bush administration.

Black Mamba validates Darwinian selection in New York

Regular reader Billy sent this story in today regarding a stupid New York woman who kept poisonous snakes as pets in her home...

From FoxNews -- PUTNAM LAKE, N.Y. – A black mamba, widely considered the world's most poisonous snake, was suspected in the death of a woman who kept 75 snakes as pets at her suburban New York home, authorities said on Thursday.

Aleta Stacey, 56, was found dead in her home in Putnam Lake, New York on Tuesday by her live-in boyfriend when he returned home from work, a spokesman for the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said.

If I've said it once I've said it a hundred times, you cannot make pets out of carnivorous reptiles. To them you are either a predator to be killed or food to be eaten. A human cannot develop a rapport with a snake. Reptiles belong in the wild or at best, in a zoo where you take your obnoxious brats to gawk and knock on the glass with their sticky fingers to try to disturb them even though the sign clearly says, "Do Not Knock On The Glass". But reptiles do not belong in your home. If something bad happens to you or your family, you have only your own stupid self to blame.

How many times do we have to go over this people?

Weiner, no longer sucking at the public teat

See what I did there in the title of this post? I used "weiner", "sucking", and "teat" in the same sentence without being overtly dirty. Practically impossible, but I did it because I care.

We can only assume that after Anthony Weiner's vociferous refusal to step down amid the embarrassment and humiliation of his recent "activities" on Twitter, and now his sudden stepping down, that the democrats in Congress have secured for him some sort of way to earn money. He's not a lawyer. Nor does he have any training to do anything useful as a regular citizen. His only skills are taking money from people who earn it and doling it out to those who don't.....in other words his only skill is being a democrat politician.

I wonder what role Hillary played on behalf of Weiner's wife Huma in getting him a civilian job? Weiner himself said that he wasn't stepping down because he had no means of making a living without sucking at the public teat.

The Navy SEALs have themselves a new target

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss....

Al Qaeda named its current number two, Ayman al-Zawahiri, to the number 1 slot recently vacated by Osama Bin Laden at the polite request of the Navy SEALs. I imagine he's looking over his shoulder already, wondering when imposing Americans in black face paint will be kicking his door down.

The SEALs should go ahead and take him out quickly. That way no terrorist in a dirty night shirt worth his weight in Semtex would want the top AQ job. With the SEALs stalking each new AQ leader, the whole organization will remain in disarray and unable to launch bottle-rockets much less attacks on American assets.

The future of flying by Airbus

Check out the future of air travel by Airbus.....nifty!

This is all still in the concept phase but it is technically possible. I'd enjoy flying a lot more in one of these rather than the cramped, dirty, sardine-can experience with which we're tormented now.

David Tyree hates gays

Ex football players should keep their pie holes shut about cultural affairs and politics...too many concussions make them stupid....

From FoxNews -- Ex-NY Giants receiver David Tyree -- who made the LEGENDARY helmet catch in Super Bowl XLII -- is coming out against gay marriage HARD ... claiming it's the first step on the road to "ANARCHY."

Tyree made the statements during an interview earlier today with the National Organization for Marriage -- a faith-based anti-gay marriage group.

During the interview, Tyree is asked about the push to legalize gay marriage in the United States -- and says if it happens, "This will be the beginning of our country sliding toward ... it's a strong word, but anarchy."

Tyree is missing the point entirely regarding societal anarchy. Rather than gay marriage, he should try looking first at the 70% illegitimacy rate among blacks, their disproportionate share of violent crime commission, gang/thug culture among black youths, the intentional destruction of the black family by liberals from dependency, and the celebration in black culture of drug use, violence, unemployment, and fatherlessness.

Why doesn't Tyree fix the problems in his own "neighborhood" before blaming others for those problems?

What a bunch of hosers, ay!

Losers in Canada don't have anything to do except drink and play hockey, and those two often at the same time. Canadian fans of hockey don't have anything to live for except drinking. So it makes sense that when the team on which the self-image of all Canadians rests, loses the Stanley Cup, they riot in the streets and destroy their own neighborhoods. Actually, it makes no sense at all. Canadians are worse than ghetto-dwelling Americans who torch cities whether their team wins or loses, because Canadians aren't living in the ghettos. They don't even have that lame excuse.

From TheVancouverSun" -- VANCOUVER -- Angry Canucks fans are on a rampage, smashing windows, looting and torching cars and dumpsters on the streets of downtown Vancouver.

More than three hours after the Stanley Cup final loss, police are moving up Howe St. toward the crowd massed at the Chapters book store on Howe and Robson.

When your reaction to a team of strangers losing a silly game that nobody watches, is to destroy the neighborhood you live in, perhaps you need to find other interests outside of sports.

Obama makes good on a promise

Who says Obama doesn't keep his promises?

From NewsAlert -- Consumers could see their electricity bills jump an estimated 40 to 60 percent in the next few years.

The reason: Pending environmental regulations will make coal-fired generating plants, which produce about half the nation’s electricity, more expensive to operate. Many are expected to be shuttered.

The criminally mischievous EPA under Obama will hamstring the production of energy under the guise of environmental protections, but it's Obama's grand design to cripple the traditional energy sources such as petroleum and coal so that his friends at GE and other companies who manufacture or produce ridiculous "sustainable" fuels can make huge profits. He promised to do this during his campaign and he's making good.

Happy now, you miserable, stupid democrats?

Chris Matthews is a moron

Chris Matthews might be the worst example of a left-wing media hack posing as a fair and balanced journalist I've ever seen. There are plenty of people further to the left, but they are at least open about it. Here is Matthews stupidly explaining why Americans don't approve of Anthony Weiner's behavior....

"people in the rural areas of this country who are Christian conservative culturally - you can say backward if you want...don't like this kind of stuff."

So according to the evolved, sophisticated Matthews, if you are troubled by Weiner's 3-year habit of prowling the Internet for young women with whom to have cybersex behind his wife's back, and you think that this behavior shows an appalling lack of judgement, character, and trustworthiness that we expect, albeit naively, in our congressmen, then you are "backward"?

I'd like to see Matthews' wife answer the charge of backwardness with which Chris insults most Americans. Someone should ask her if she'd be OK with Chris carrying on like this with strange, young women. What a jackass!

Is the NATO alliance yesterday's news

Regular reader David sent this article in regarding our participation in NATO going forward. In his final policy speech yesterday, outgoing defense secretary Gates questioned the wisdom of America's continued commitment to the NATO alliance that has lasted 62 years. Here's an excerpt....

From The New York Times -- “The blunt reality is that there will be dwindling appetite and patience in the U.S. Congress — and in the American body politic writ large — to expend increasingly precious funds on behalf of nations that are apparently unwilling to devote the necessary resources or make the necessary changes to be serious and capable partners in their own defense,” Mr. Gates said.

I've advanced for years the idea that European countries should not only be defending themselves, but handling trouble spots in their own back yards. European countries are like lazy, fat teenagers whose parents have spoiled them and expected nothing from them. As long as we provide security for them, they won't spend a nickel securing themselves.

Why are we still in the Balkans wasting time and money? If the lazy Europeans don't care about the ethnic cleansing taking place right under their noses, why should we, now 20 years later? The Europeans insisted on toppling Qaddafi's Libyan regime, but without America doing the heavy lifting, NATO ran out of bombs in 3 weeks. What the hell kind of defense force is that?

I agree, it's time we disbanded NATO and let them fight their own battles and secure their own neighborhoods. We cannot afford the expense of protecting other nations who don't have the self-preservation instincts to protect themselves.

Iowan king makers

Just because Iowa chooses to have its straw poll a full 15 months ahead of presidential elections and they host their caucus before anybody else is even really paying attention, they have been anointed by the media as presidential king makers. How many people live in Iowa anyway? Like about 300?

Iowa has 5 congressional seats. Who cares who wins their poll? Why does the outcome of Iowa voting have so much national weight? Self-centered Iowans get upset if candidates, like Mitt Romney will do this year, skip their stupid straw poll the year before the election, and the media paint the snub as if its a critical, missed spring-board headed to New Hampshire, another state by the way, whose poll nobody should care who wins.

I resent all the front loading that takes place when it comes to presidential elections, and especially the enormous importance placed by the media on the outcomes of states who represent the hillbilly vote and the quirky, New Englander vote respectively.

Terrific...we're warring in Yemen now

That's all we need, another war, this time in Yemen.

So how is the Obama doctrine on foreign military entanglements different from the Bush doctrine? For one thing, Bush invaded whatever country he thought was a state sponsor of terrorism, so long as they couldn't fight back(Iraq and Afghanistan). Otherwise we would have invaded Iran and Pakistan years ago.

On the other hand Obama, Nobel Peace Prize winner, seems happy to drop bombs on any country in the middle east whose regime is currently in disfavor over at the UN. Or conversely, drop bombs on rebel forces who threaten regimes currently in favor over at the UN.

Oil prices notwithstanding, do we have the right to attack rebel forces in Yemen in order to protect the sitting government from overthrow? Did they invite us to do that? Can we afford a fourth conflict in the middle east? How many wars is too many?

Life in Obama's growing police state

Obama's department of education sicked a SWAT team on a single dad and his three small children at 6AM in Stockton, CA because his estranged wife defaulted on some student loans. WTH?!?!?!

This raises some serious questions about where this country is and where it's headed:

-Do we now live in a police state where the authorities with guns can do what they want?
-Ever hear of the Constitution? If there was ever an example of "unreasonable search and seizure" this would be it.
-Since when does a civil loan default qualify as a criminal matter worthy of SWAT?
-Just how powerful is the Dept. of Education under Obama that they can call out a SWAT attack?

I wouldn't have blamed the guy if he had resisted with deadly force, masked men kicking in his door at 6AM. What a--holes!

In other news, who knew Australia had camels?

As much as I like Australia, I forget they are eaten up with man-made global-warming idiocy....

From FinancialTimes.com -- Killing a camel to earn a carbon credit may seem a curious way to tackle climate change, but one country is poised to allow investors to do precisely that.

The camel culling plan is one of the first to arise under the Australian government’s new “carbon farming initiative”, a scheme that lets farmers or investors claim carbon credits if they can show they have cut greenhouse gas emissions.

More than 1m camels are now believed to be roaming across the Australian outback – one of the biggest camel populations in the world – and each emits methane, a greenhouse gas significantly more potent than carbon dioxide.

If the camel herd needs to be culled, fine. But to pretend that you are doing something to curb global warming by awarding stupid carbon credits for killing a camel is utterly ridiculous.

Bailing out Greece?

Entitled Greek youths marching and demanding more government-provided goodies....

From CNBC -- President Barack Obama on Tuesday urged European countries and bondholders to prevent a "disastrous" default by Greece and pledged U.S. support to help tackle the country's debt crisis.

"I'm confident that Germany's leadership, along with other key actors in Europe, will help us arrive at a path for Greece to return to growth, for this debt to become more manageable," Obama said.

I may be wrong about this, but I doubt seriously that a default by an economy as small as that of Greece would trigger a world-wide financial calamity as Obama would have us believe. I think Greece collapsing would be a cautionary tale about profligate government spending, vast unionization of the public sector, and the expectation by citizens of cradle-to-grave government care. A sobering collapse of California would do the same thing in the US. If California goes belly up, watch how fast other at-risk states get their houses in order, first by cancelling all public-sector union contracts and then by cutting drastically government spending. Essentially the states would have to tell Obama's union-obsessed labor relations board to go to hell, tout-suite!

New London, Conn....."Can't we have nice things"?

This is the $11million whale-tale fountain in New London, Conn. The yellow tape is there because they had to close it down because people were using it as a public latrine. Apparently homeless bums, hobos, and derelicts have defecated, urinated, bathed, and washed blood off of themselves in the fountain and it's just too gross to leave open.

Leave it to the moocher class to ruin it for everybody.

D-Day

Today's the anniversary of D-Day. I wonder how today's media would report on it?

From Army.mil -- June 6, 1944, 160,000 Allied troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of heavily-fortified French coastline to fight Nazi Germany on the beaches of Normandy, France. General Dwight D. Eisenhower called the operation a crusade in which “we will accept nothing less than full victory.” More than 5,000 Ships and 13,000 aircraft supported the D-Day invasion, and by day’s end on June 6, the Allies gained a foot- hold in Normandy. The D-Day cost was high -more than 9,000 Allied Soldiers were killed or wounded -- but more than 100,000 Soldiers began the march across Europe to defeat Hitler.

Name another country whose citizens regularly give their lives for the freedom and liberty of citizens in other countries? That's what makes America special and better.

Obama's contribution to high gas prices

According to economists, because of Obama's monetary policies, especially that of "quantitative easing", a gallon of gas costs about $.60 more than it should right now. Basically their point is that it isn't, as Obama would argue falsely, Mideast turmoil or excessive oil consumption in India and China that is causing the price spike, but US dollar inflation as a result of Obama dumping cash into the economy. Our dollars are just worth less when the monetary policy is "loose".

Thanks for nothing, Obama.

Romney digs his global-warming hole a little deeper

With the view held by most sane conservatives that global warming is a natural phenomenon on which humans have no effect whatsoever, how is AGW believer Mitt Romney still the GOP front runner?

From Boston.com -- MANCHESTER, N.H. — In the first town hall of his freshly announced presidential campaign, Mitt Romney yesterday reaffirmed his view that global warming is occurring and that humans are contributing to it, a position that has been rejected in recent years by many Republicans as the issue has taken on a greater partisan tinge.

He might as well be sitting on the couch with Gingrich and Pelosi in that stupid commercial for anti-CO2 legislation. I swear, if I have to vote for this guy next November, it might be the most reluctant vote I've ever cast.

The moocher class

Over at Gallup, they've published the results of the annual poll questions regarding progressive taxes and wealth redistribution, with predictable results....

47% think the rich should be punished for the benefit of the poor. This 47% are reliable democrat voters who are petty, jealous, and resentful that other people have more than they do. They feel they deserve to receive for free, some of what others have earned, so they vote for the democrat that promises it to them.

If it weren't for the derelict, moocher class who are either drug addicted, lazy, unemployable, shiftless, irresponsible, criminal, or stupidly guilty about being white and rich, democrats could never get elected.

Let's hope this graph stays the same or shifts leftward where more Americans see the folly in taxing the productive in society for the benefit of the unproductive. We're only a couple of percentage points away from the tipping point where a majority are living off the earnings of the minority and Obama is push as many people as he can in that direction. Obama's goal is to get as many Americans destitute and dependent on government as possible. When the moocher class is a majority, democrats will never lose another election.

Dr. Death meets his ironic demise

Michigan pathologist and assisted-suicide pioneer Jack Kevorkian died yesterday from complications from pneumonia and kidney problems. He died ironically without assistance.

The media treats the idea of assisted suicide as ghoulish, barbaric, and macabre, but is it? Why shouldn't a person who is at the end of life and in pain be allowed to pass, on his/her own terms? Why are we compelled to heroically fight a guaranteed losing battle, at great cost to, and pain for, our loved ones? What's so bad about saying your goodbyes and going out peacefully?

Doctors' attitudes are that simply possessing the technology to prolong your suffering justifies using it, and of course charging you for it. It doesn't.

As a libertarian I'm generally in favor of assisted suicide. The only question for me is where do you draw the line between who can choose to end life and who cannot? Obviously a cancer victim who has hours or days to live and is in great pain should be able to choose assisted suicide, but how about a distraught 17 year old girl whose boyfriend just dumped her? Probably not. So clearly there have to be regulations, but as free, lucid adults, why is it so bad to make that choice when we are at the end of life anyway?

Huck wants some media attention too

Perhaps he resents the attention the media is giving Sarah Palin and thinks it's because she's playing coy about running, but Mike Huckabee decided to play a little coy himself by hinting that he might still run saying, "I haven't closed any doors." Funny, that's precisely what he did on his unwatchable TV show two weeks ago.

If he changes his mind now, he'll make Trump look like a downright serious candidate by comparison. What Huck forgot to notice when he said he hadn't closed any doors was that the voters will have closed the door on him if he decides to get back in.

Obama is not a vulnerable politician....he's got the media on his side

Last night on O'Reilly, Dick Morris stated that at some point Obama has got to look in the mirror and realize that his policies have failed, and change his ways in order to get re-elected. He seems to think Obama is cut from the same corrupt cloth from which all politicians are cut and pragmatism will cause him to re-evaluate his performance as President as it did Clinton's before him. I don't think that's the case.

Unemployment is around 9%, his profligate spending sent the US beyond the magical debt limit, the dollar continues to free-fall, gas prices are skyrocketing yet he does nothing, the government continues to expand unabated, regulatory agencies torment Americans with stifling rules like never before, and the private sector shrinks under the weight of punitive taxation. We are truly a foodstamp nation and more enrole on government assistance every day. Morris thinks Obama must see these as negatives, but I think Obama looks in the mirror and smiles devilishly, knowing that he has performed marvelously according to his grand plan for America.

Obama looks in the mirror and says,

"America is receiving her just punishments for past, colonial sins and for using the poor and downtrodden (dark) countries upon which she's become rich. I have taken America down quite a few notches but not nearly enough. The government has become vast and controlling under my direction, the poor are getting their just due while the greedy private sector has seen it's wealth diminished to the point that soon, they'll just give up. Luckily for me, the useful idiots in the media are fully on my side and will parrot literally anything I tell them. Now, how to get re-elected so I can continue my dismantling of the evil, capitalist State. I know, I'll just direct the guilty white media to call any one who criticizes or questions my methods, racists. That always shuts down dissent. I got elected solely because of my skin color. Why not get re-elected because criticism of me is criticism of my race?"
