“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Taxed Enough Already?

Here is a partial list of the punitive taxes that have been levied on the American people in just the last 100 years, by the derelicts we've put in charge of our lives in Washington.

From Charlie Reese's final column in the Orlando Sentinel before he retired, sent in by regular reader David.....

Accounts Receivable Tax, Building Permit Tax, CDL license Tax, Cigarette Tax, Corporate Income Tax,
Dog License Tax, Excise Taxes, Federal Income Tax, Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA), Fishing License Tax,
Food License Tax, Fuel Permit Tax, Gasoline Tax (currently 44.75 cents per gallon), Gross Receipts Tax,
Hunting License Tax,
Inheritance Tax, Inventory Tax, IRS Interest Charges IRS Penalties (tax on top of tax),
Liquor Tax,
Luxury Taxes, Marriage License Tax, Medicare Tax, Personal Property Tax, Property Tax,

Prior to this onerous level of taxation, which by the way was required in order to pay for the lavish cash and prizes politicians heaped upon the laziest among us in exchange for votes, the US enjoyed full employment, a budget surplus, and a life relatively free of government intrusion.

Ever notice how cutting spending is almost never an option with these assholes in DC? Their first instinct is always how to raise still more money to pay for their pet programs that'll help them get reelected. I can't think of a single human activity to which some tax isn't attached.

Is that the kind if country you want to live in? Is that the kind of life you want to live?
